The Edmonton Oilers capped off their five game Easter Conference road trip Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators, winning 3-2 in overtime.
Entering the contest, the Oilers were on a three-game losing skid but have now improved their record to 3-3-1 heading back to Alberta. They play the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday at home before going on a short Pacific coast road trip, visiting the Seattle Kraken and the Vancouver Canucks back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday.
The game against the Senators boasted plenty of intriguing storylines involving the Oilers and it is a good game to follow after some fans were starting to hit the panic button prematurely.
Stuart Skinner 100th NHL win
This win was significant and marks the 100th win of goaltender Stuart Skinner's career. He becomes just the sixth goalie in franchise history to hit that milestone with the Oilers, doing so in 179 games.

He has taken plenty of criticism in his time with the Oilers but it cannot be denied the success that the 26 year old has had in his young career. He has been with the team through two Stanley Cup finals runs and hopes to be with them on this next run as well.
He has started this season a little shaky but between his 2-0 shutout victory over the New York Rangers, he has been able to compile a few solid games.
Adam Henrique 1000th NHL game
The veteran Adam Henrique joined an exclusive club, playing in his 1,000th NHL game on Tuesday, becoming the 409th player to reach that milestone. He also became the first Oiler to reach it as well.
Although the 35 year old can be overlooked by fans at times, this is a big achievement for a player that was a solid NHL contributor for 16 seasons.
Jake Walman season debut
After missing the first six games of the season due to an injury, Jake Walman made his 2025-26 season debut with the Oilers. The top-four defenceman slotted beside his usual partner, Darnell Nurse and looked great in his first outing of the year.
He also got the chance to play here, scoring the overtime winner for the Oilers to win 3-2 and avoid the dreaded shootout. His goal snapped the Oilers three-game losing skid and was hopefully a good omen for things to come with him back in the lineup. He is already living up to his massive $49 million contract extension.
Ike Howard first NHL goal
After some early season struggles to kick off his NHL rookie season, the 2025 Hobey Baker winner, Ike Howard was able to score his first NHL goal. He put the Oilers up 2-0 in the second period of Tuesday's game off a nice feed from star Leon Draisaitl.

It could not have come at a better time as the rookie forward has seemingly found himself in head coach Kris Knoblauch's doghouse, consistently playing under 10 minutes a game and even being a healthy scratch against the New Jersey Devils. There is a belief he will go down to the Oilers minor league affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors soon enough.
Looking ahead, the Oilers hope to keep the momentum going with three games in the next five days.
