After a night to forget at home Tuesday as the Edmonton Oilers faced the Dallas Stars, they are back on the road Saturday to take on the Seattle Kraken.
The Oilers were pummeled 8-3 by their Western Conference rivals. As a result, the team lost one of their leading scorers, forward Jack Roslovic who is expected to be out at least a week.

• Roslovic will be “a couple of weeks.” Knoblauch is not anticipating his return anytime soon.
• Kapanen “may be several weeks.” Team is waiting for more information on his injury.
• Walman will not play Saturday. Skated again this morning — possibility to return…
The Oilers play the next five games after Saturday at home, hoping it will stabilize their play and weather the storm that is brewing. Given recent efforts and the team’s play through the quarter mark of the campaign, nobody is safe from the pitchforks and torches wielded by angry Oilers fans.
The coaching staff, the goaltenders, even a number of long term core members of the team have caught the ire of fans and media. That is why the Oilers will hope to get back in the win column and steer the ship in the right direction.
Players to watch
Connor ClattenburgÂ
The Oilers rookie and unlikely hero, Connor Clattenburg has been a breath of fresh air since his call-up from the American Hockey League’s Bakersfield Condors. He scored his first career goal last game and has been able to inject his physical brand of hockey into the Oilers lineup. In this game, he can hopefully help set the tone for the team and help to overcome the Kraken.
Matt Savoie
Another member of the Oilers’ youth movement, Matt Savoie remains a fixture on the top line next to Connor McDavid. He has shown positive signs in recent outings and his production has slowly started trending upwards. His ability to keep up with the pace and speed alongside McDavid and the mature elements he has added to his game make him an intriguing linemate alongside the Oilers’ star.
Andrew Mangiapane
Andrew Mangiapane has only two assists over his last 10 games and with Roslovic sidelined for at least a week, the team will expect more out of Mangiapane. He has shown throughout his career the ability to drive play in a middle-six role and provide a good secondary scoring push but has struggled to rack up points in an Oilers sweater. Tonight should provide a good opportunity for him to start to ramp up his scoring pace.
