In his 2025-26 NHL season debut against the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers star Leon Draisaitl recorded his 400th career goal

Now, he has reached the 1000th point of his NHL career, making him just the fifth Oilers player to reach that milestone. Doing so in just 824 games and having scored 416 goals and 584 assists. He hit the milestone by providing an assist on Zach Hyman's powerplay marker to open the scoring against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Even more special, he scored it against former Oilers netminder, Stuart Skinner in his debut match with his new team and first against the Oilers since being traded for Tristan Jarry on December 12th.

This comes just one year after McDavid hit that mark last season. He joins an elite group of Oilers to hit the mark with the team. He joins; Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Jari Kurri, and teammate McDavid.

Draisaitl has grown into one of the best in the NHL

The German star, Draisaitl is moving towards a Hockey Hall of Fame finish to his career, hitting multiple major milestones and receiving many accolades for his elite play.

So far in his career, he has won an Art Ross trophy, a Hart Memorial trophy, a Rocket Richard trophy, and Ted Lindsay award. On top of his scoring prowess, he has taken strides to become a more complete player, eyeing adding a Frank J. Selke to his trophy cabinet and of course, a Stanley Cup.

Regardless of if he succeeds or not, Draisaitl is sure to be remembered in the history books and will forever be remembered for hitting the illustrious 1000 NHL point mark. He becomes just the 103rd player of all-time to do so.
