The Edmonton Oilers roll into Nashville looking to rebound after an embarrassing loss to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday. The Oilers got manhandled by the strong forecheck of the Minnesota Wild. A game like that goes to show that there is still work to be done if the Oilers want to become a contender.

They can start that tonight against a Nashville team that looks like they are going to end up in a wildcard spot. The Nashville Predators are playing pretty inconsistently right now going 5-4-1 in their last 10 games, while the Edmonton Oilers are 7-2-1 in their last 10.

So far this season the Edmonton Oilers have won both games 3-2SO on January 27th and 5-3 on November 3rd both of these games were played in Edmonton. This will be the first time the Oilers are in Nashville, since before COVID. In the past Nashville has been pretty rough for the Oilers. They look to change that today.

The Edmonton Oilers should be the hungier team coming out of the gate tonight considering how badly they played last game. I would look for a quick start from the Oilers tonight. If they do get a lead hopefully they can keep the pressure on and skate to an easy win.

Edmonton Oilers Projected Lines

I wouldn’t expect to many changes in the lineup from the game on Tuesday. One change I would expect is a change between the pipes, expect Mike Smith to start tonight.
