The Edmonton Oilers continue their 5 game road trip with a game tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers are the 5th worst team in the league, so this should be victory for the Oilers. Even with the injuries to the Oilers forwards, I still think Edmonton has the advantage.
After playing 3 back to back good games against NHL’s elite teams the Edmonton Oilers are looking really good right now. Going into last week I noted that it will be a week to show us what the Oilers really are. They performed well in all 3 games which is a good sign.
Just because they played good against the best doesn’t mean you can take it easy against the lower placed Philadelphian Flyers team. When these teams played each other back on October 27th, the Oilers lost that game 5-3. That game was the Edmonton Oilers first loss of the season and the only loss in their 9-1 start.
I theory the Edmonton Oilers should skate away with a win tonight, but the Flyers had the Oilers number in the first game so the Oilers are going to need to play a solid game. This is even more the case with Nugent-Hopkins and Puljujärvi out of the lineup.
