Embracing their “one game at a time” mantra, the Edmonton Oilers are hoping to start things off on the right foot as they begin their homestand to end the month of January in Rogers Place. It won’t be easy as they start things off against the red-hot Toronto Maple Leafs.
At 6-2-0 so far this season, the Maple Leafs are at this point in time, on top as kings of the North Division. Hopefully, the Oilers come into this game prepared for a potential offensive showdown as we’ll get to see Connor McDavid vs. Mitch Marner for the third time this season. Defense will be key if the Oilers are to leave this matchup victorious.
Hopefully, this won’t be another snoozefest of a hockey game as both young forwards should put on a show for all those watching. The Oilers need to get some positive momentum going in their direction if they’re to end the month of January on a high note.
