Fans of the National Hockey League (NHL) and Edmonton Oilers fans may only have to endure Connor McDavid contract extension talk for today according to Sportsnet's NHL insider, Elliotte Friedman.
On his latest episode of 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, Friedman and his co-host Kyle Bukauskas did not make Oilers fans wait long, almost immediately diving into the topic that has been on their mind most prominently for months — the McDavid extension.
The Oilers captain has been eligible to sign a contract extension since July 1st but the hesitancy and unwillingness to commit to a deal has plenty of fans ready to hit the panic button.
The latest on the McDavid contract extension
Speaking about the contract situation surrounding the Oilers star, he said "I do think that McDavid wants to give the Oilers clarity before the season begins by either signing or explaining why specifically he wouldn’t sign. So I think we’re gonna have an idea, one way or another, in the next day or two"
Now, it has been confirmed that the two parties have agreed on an extension. First, Friedman reported on X.
