The Edmonton Oilers look to get back even in the Western Conference Final tonight. This is an important game for the Oilers. If they win, the series will shift back to Dallas and become a best of three. If the Stars win, the Oilers would need to win 3 straight against the Stars with two of the three games being in Dallas.
Although the Oilers find themselves down 2 games to 1, they have been the better team for quite a bit of this series. The problem is they have small gaps in their play that have allowed the Stars to have life. The best example would be in game 3 where the Oilers allowed the Stars to score 3 goals in under 5 minutes.
This has been a problem that has plagued the Oilers all season. It comes and goes, but for a team that hopes to win the cup, it should not have any chance to happen. Tonight the Oilers need to play the same way they did for the other 55 minutes of that game. They were able to contain and overpower Dallas, especially in the first period. They need to play like that for a whole 60 minutes.
The Oilers have shown they can come back in a series as they have already done in this year's playoffs when they came from behind against the Vancouver Canucks. I would rather the Oilers have the chance to eliminate the Dallas Stars before game 7 though, but that starts with a win tonight in game 4.
Puck drop on tonight's game is schdeuled for 630 PM. The Oilers will need to be ready at the drop of the puck, the Stars should be sensing some blood in the water and they will want to dispatch the Edmonton Oilers as soon as they possibly can. A team that has the likes of Draisaitl and McDavid is not a team that you want to keep around longer than you want them to. The Oilers will need to bring their best against the Stars tonight, if they do that the series should be heading back to Dallas tied at 2.
