After losing game 2, 5-4 in overtime the Edmonton Oilers had something to prove in game 3. From the drop of the puck, you could tell this was a determined Oilers team that was not going to let the Kings take the lead in the series.

After a subpar game by the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday the Oilers showed the Kings why they are the better team beating them in almost every aspect of the game. Going into the game I said the way for the Oilers to win this game was to withstand the Kings' initial push and then score first to take the Kings home crowd out of the game.

The Oilers did both of those things then there was no looking back as they were able to put 6 past Cam Talbot and skate away with an easy victory. I would expect to see this level of play from the Oilers the rest of the way, especially with the way the game got a bit chippy at the end. The Oilers are going to want to bury the Kings and they have the ability to do it.

Moving forward if the Oilers are able to keep this level of play the Kings will not have an answer. In game 2 the Kings played as well as I think they could play, and the Oilers played one of their worst games. Even with that happening the game still went to overtime. So if the Oilers play solid this game should be over shortly.

The series will continue on Sunday night in Los Angeles at 8:30 pm again. The Oilers will look to take a stranglehold on the series and the Kings will try to tie it up. The way the Oilers played last night though I do not like the way it is looking for the Los Angeles Kings moving forward.
