Waking Up With The Edmonton Oilers- Oilers Hope To Keep Momentum Going
Hockey is a game where momentum is a key component to winning and right now the Edmonton Oilers have the momentum in the Stanley Cup Final.
The Edmonton Oilers are coming off their most complete game in the Stanley Cup Finals, and I know that they still have a lot of work to do to beat the Florida Panthers, but that last game has given the fans some hope that maybe the Oilers could be the team to do it.
Heading into game 4 the Oilers visually have been the better team for the majority of the time in both games 1 and 3, but the OIlers' errors had put them in the position where they were down games to 0. Hopefully, looking at the way game 4 was won they can carry forward that momentum and confidence.
Heading into game 4 the Oilers scored a total of 4 goals, they scored twice as much in one game as they did in the three previous. The big question is, did the Oilers figure out how to solve Bobrovsky, or did he have one off night? Depending on the answer, this series could go either way, if the Oilers broke Bob then this series is wide open, if he just had an off night then it is back to the grind for the Oilers.
I think it is a bit of both. There is no way that Bobrovsky is going to be as bad as he was on Saturday, but I also think that the Oilers have learned the way to be him. Just like every single Oilers game the main component to the Oilers winning tonight is stopping the sefl-inflicted goals against. They did a good job with that on Saturday. If they can continue to do it again tonight I am expecting the series to come back to Rogers Place.
While the Panthers are going to be pushing hard to try and win the Cup in their home the Oilers will be trying to keep their Cup chances alive. If you are hoping for another blowout Edmonton Oilers win, I think you are going to be disappointed. I expect this to be a very tight game, if I were going to bet on this game I would bet the under. Neither team is going to want to give up the first goal, so chances will be few and far between. In the end, I think the Oilers take their momentum and confidence into Flordia and come out with another win forcing a game 6 back in Edmonton.
