In a rare scenario where the Edmonton Oilers play a game before noon Edmonton time(they play before noon again tomorrow), the Oilers are in Buffalo to take on the Sabres. The Sabres currently have a record of 29-30-5, which means they are unlikely to make the playoffs. As the Sabres look to play spoiler the rest of the season and prove themselves for next season the Oilers need to be ready and show up puck drop.

Over the last couple of games, the Oilers have started slow and they started behind the 8-ball. They were able to come back most of the games, except the last game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. In that game, they spotted the Blue Jackets a 3-goal lead after the first period and were not able to come back.

If the Oilers hope to win games in the NHL and more importantly in the playoffs they can't be spotting teams with a lead. They need to fix this issue during the regular season and hopefully, it can start tonight. The Sabres aren't a strong team and the new-look Oilers should be able to handle them with ease.

Edmonton Oilers Lines

According, to Tony Brar Kris Knoblauch is going to try Henrique at third-line center. The thing that comes out when he plays on the third line is a very balanced attack. The first line is a scary good line, but the 2nd and 3rd lines also now have a much more even skill spread out on them.

Deep Breath After Trade Deadline

I personally have never gone through a trade deadline, but I would imagine it is a stressful time for players. You don't know if you are going to have to pick up and move your whole family and I would think that puts some extra stress on players.

Now that the deadline has come and gone and no one from the roster was traded the players can now exhale. Now they can focus on the rest of the season and playoffs. I would like to see this team start to build chemistry and remove the big defensive mistakes from their game.
