After a nerve-racking couple of days after the Edmonton Oilers lost game 5, the Oilers showed up and played one of their best games of the playoffs winning game 6, 5-1. This now forces a game 7 that will be played on Monday at 7 PM MST. With the way the Oilers played tonight, the chances looked good that the Oilers would win.

The Oilers showed up and took care of business tonight. In a very important game, the Oilers showed the Vancouver Canucks what they can do when they play a full 60 minutes. The fact that the Oilers are able to control a game when they play their best is a good sign for Oilers fans and a bad sign for Canucks fans.

Going into this game the Oilers game tonight Knoblauch made the move to start Skinner over Pickard, and not that he stole the game or anything, but he didn’t let any soft goals in. He played a solid and made one big blocker save on a point shot from Hughes. The way the Oilers played tonight I don’t think it mattered who was in the net.

Aside from Skinner playing a good game, the big boys showed up tonight. All of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Evan Bouchard, and Connor McDavid got 3 points and Draisaitl got 2 assists. In important games like this, the big players needed to show up and they all did. This type of game from these players is really important to prove that they are ready for a deep run. Do I wish that they showed up last game rather than this game, yes.

If the Edmonton Oilers can continue to carry this momentum into game 7 then the Oilers should be able to win the next game. I would expect the Canucks to come out firing though as they will not. Be happy with the outcome of the game. So, I expect a really good game, but hopefully, a game in which the Oilers are in.
