The Edmonton Oilers will be playing their second last preseason game tonight. Their opponent, the Seattle Kraken, are playing their final game before the start of the regular season. So for the Kraken, this is their last chance to get things going before they take to the ice for meaningful games. The Kraken will be icing the best lineup they can tonight. For the Oilers, they are still not putting out their full lineup.

For the Kraken, they are trying to iron out any last kinks in their gameplay before the regular season. The Oilers also have a pretty cetran laiden lineup. There are only a few players in the lineup for the Oilers that are missing tonight that will not be in the lineup, Corey Perry and Ty Emberson being the most notable.
First Game For Darnell Nurse
After missing all the games till now. Nurse will be getting his first preseason game in tonight. After spending time before this recovering from an injury sustained during the cup run. Nurse is going to be a key player for the Oilers this season. With all the losses on the blueline Nurse is going to be asked to do more than he had been last season and with his cap hit he should be able to handle it.
I would expect this game to be a solid test for the Oilers, but I still expect this game to be a win for the Oilers. Even though the Oilers are missing a couple of full-time NHLers their team is still better. If this was a regular season game I would be fully expecting the Oilers to take care of this game, but since it is preseason there is no guarenntee that the Oilers will be giving 100%, and why would they? One major goal of preseason is to get out healthy, not to win every game.
