After a stunning game 6 performance the Edmonton Oilers have taken this series from 3-0 all the way back to 3-3.

Looking back just a few games ago the Edmonton Oilers were hoping just not to get swept, now the Oilers are one win away from winning the Stanley Cup. The Oilers have won 3 straight games and in this another crucial game, the Oilers were able to score the first goal and never looked back.

The Oilers got the lead early when Leon Draisaitl set up Foegele for a back door shot in which he made no mistake at the 7:27 mark of the first period. Then 46 seconds into the second period Adam Henrique scored to extend the Oilers' lead to two goals.

After that, I think the turning point in the game took place. The Florida Panthers appeared to have tied the game just after the Herique goal. But after a gutsy challenge by Kris Knoblauch, the play was overturned due to the Panthers being offside. That took a bit of wind out of the Panthers' sails and put the life back in the Oilers who were then able to extend the lead to 3-0 on a Hyman goal and never really look back.

While the Panthers did eventually end up adding one goal it was countered by two empty net goals by the Oilers. One by McLeod and one by Nurse. With the win tonight, the Edmonton Oilers have now put a ton of pressure on the Panther to win the next game at home.

Edmonton Oilers Positives

  • Stuart Skinner played amazing putting up 0.952 SV% and as a bonus, he got an assist on the Nurse.
  • Oilers penalty kill was once again perfect, not allowing a goal on three oppertunites.
  • The Edmonton Oilers' depth players came through with goals from Henrique, Foegele, McLeod and Nurse.

Even If Evander Kane Is Available, Should The Oilers Put Him In?. dark. Next. Even If Evander Kane Is Available, Should The Oilers Put Him In?

As mentioned above this series will once again move back to Florida for a Stanley Cup Finals game 7. No matter the outcome of the game the Cup will be awarded on Monday. The Oilers have not had a chance to win the cup since 2006, but they will again on Monday and in my honest opionon I think the Oilers have a much better chance to hoist the cup this time around.
