The Edmonton Oilers haven't played a game since they beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 to take the first series of their Cup run 4 games to 1. Since then both Oilers players and fans have been patiently waiting for the start of their second series.
While a person can keep themselves busy, I am starting to run out of things to occupy my time while I eagerly wait for the return of Edmonton Oilers playoff games. I am sure I am not alone in this, so because of this, I have put together a list of 3 things that you can do to kill time till the puck drops in game 1.
1. Watch Connor McDavid Highlights
If you are anything like me sometimes you end up on YouTube watching videos of who knows what. My first recommendation plays right into that. While watching useless videos just type in "Connor McDavid highlights" into the search bar. Then just keep watching those videos.
Here is one of the many videos that just make me smile. Having McDavid on the Oilers is something that we will sometimes take for granted, but watching highlights like this usually shocks me back into a state of thankfulness for Connor McDavid.
2. Watch the other playoff series
While watching Oilers playoff hockey is the best, second would be other teams playoff hockey. With each game in every series meaning so much even if it's not the Oilers I still find it exciting to watch the games. Plus, you never know who the Oilers are going to eventually play so a little bit of scouting never hurt.
The series other than the Oilers I am going to be watching the most is the Dallas Stars/Colorado Avalanche series, There is two reasons for this, one I think this is going to be the tightest and most exciting series of round 2. Second, if the Oilers beat the Canucks then they will be playing the winner of this round.
3. Catch up the honey do list
When it comes to April and May I tend to fall a bit behind on the chores around the house that I have told my wife I would do. With all this time between round 1 and round 2, I was able to basically complete all the things I promised. Not only does it feel good to complete the chores, but it will also buy you some time moving forward if the Oilers go on a deep run, which I think they will. Gaining some ground on chores is always a good thing.
There is only one day left till the Oilers start their second round of the playoffs. Hopefully these three things I noted above will be enough to help you get through. It may be a bit of a struggle to wait, but the way the Oilers look right now I have a feeling that the wait is going to be worth it.
