In a multiple team move the Edmonton Oilers have brought it several players with the biggest piece being Trent Frederic. Frederic, while currently injured, will likely be playing on the bottom six for the Oilers. He is much younger and quicker than the rest of that group. He also has a bit of an edge to his game which is something the Oilers are missing.
The Oilers are also bringing in Max Jones and the rights to Petr Hauser. Max Jones was a first-round pick, 24th overall, in 2016. He has yet to find his footing in the NHL, but perhaps a change of scenario will make things better for him and his career. Petr Hauser is and unsigned draft choice, who is currently playing in Czechia, drafted back in 2022, Hauser is still a fairly young player so time will tell what happens there with him.

This is the first trade the Oilers have made this deadline season, and it addressed one of the holes in the lineup. Now there is still a couple of spots that needs to be improved on I think, if this team wants to once again have a chance of getting to the Stanely Cup Final. The fact that they made one move though is a good thing. I was honestly starting to get worried that with the Evander Kane questions that the Oilers weren't going to do anything.
With Frederic being injured it could be a while before we actually see him in an Oilers' jersey, but when we finally do, I have no doubt that he is going to make his presence felt on the ice. This was a good first step in the right direction for the Oilers, and hopefully not the last one.
