Oilers continue road trip as they take on Boston Bruins

In the second game of a four-game road trip the Oilers are in Boston to take on a Bruins team that is not as strong as it once was.

The Edmonton Oilers countuine their 4 game road trip tonight as they face the Boston Bruins. The Oilers look to extend their 3 game winning streak to 4 games as the Bruins look to hang on to 3rd in the Atlantic Division. The one time great Bruins have slowly started to fall back into the NHL mean. The Bruins a couple years ago were by far favorites to win the cup, this current team will be lucky to make the playoffs in a strong Atlantic Division.

While right now the Bruins may be 3rd in their division, they are only 3 points up on the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning have played 5 less games than the Bruins though, so after those 5 games the Bruins will most likely no longer be in that spot and will be lucky to be in a wild card spot. The Oilers are on the other side of the coin, they are in 3rd of their divisions and will probably end up going up in the standings as the season goes on.

Bruins Lines

For the Edmonton Oilers this should be a win considering have their team has been playing as of late. With being winners of 3 in a row the Oilers are starting to play solid hockey again. For them to beat the Bruins tonight they will need to play a full 60 minutes. Playing a whole 60 minutes is an issue that the Oilers have struggled with in the past, but as of late they have been getting better at that.

Another advantage the Oilers have over the Bruins is their special teams. While the Bruins do have Pastrnak the rest of the team has gotten weaker over the past couple years. That doesn't mean they can't beat you, so the Oilers penalty kill will need to be sharp and even better if the Oilers can stay out of the box that would be the best outcome.

For the Oilers they should be well rested heading into this game. I expect the Oilers to win and my guess of a final score is 4-2 Oilers. Of their 4 goals I think one of them will come on the powerplay. The Oilers powerplay is back in its top form as of late and tonight it will lead them to victory.
