First and foremost, I would like to own up to my huge fail yesterday. In my pregame articles yesterday, I wrote that the game last night was in Edmonton and boy when I turned on the TV last night and saw the Kraken logo in the middle, did I feel like a real fool. Now that I feel better let's move on to the game last night.

The Edmonton Oilers played a fairly solid game last night. While the end score only had a difference of 2 the game played a lot more in the Oilers favor. The Oilers ended up with nearly twice as many shots as the Kraken, the Oilers got 32 shots on goal while the Kraken only ended up getting 17 shots on Pickard.

The Oilers opened the game by scoring two goals in the first 6 minutes and from that point on you could tell that the Oilers were going to dominate the game. While the Kraken did have a late push where they could have tied it with a goal while their net was empty, Leon Draisaitl scored a goal on that empty net putting the Oilers up by two late a score that did not change after that point.

Stats Breakdown

Leon Draisaitl led the way with a goal and an assist, bringing his season total to 30 assists and 29 goals, while Viktor Arvidsson chipped in with two assists, raising his total to seven. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored his 10th goal of the season, assisted by Connor Brown (13th assist) and Brett Kulak (7th assist). Jeff Skinner added his 7th goal, with helpers from Kasperi Kapanen (2nd assist) and Derek Ryan (4th assist). Seattle’s Chandler Stephenson scored unassisted, marking his 5th goal, and Jaden Schwartz notched his 13th, assisted by Vince Dunn (10th assist) and Kaapo Kakko (13th assist). Connor McDavid was held without a point for the second consecutive game.

Following this win the Edmonton Oilers now continue their road trip as they now head to Boston where they will face the Bruins on Tuesday. After that they will head to take on the Pittsburg Pehuins on Thursday then the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday before heading back home to host the Los Angeles Kings on the 13th. After that one home game they once again will head out on another 3-game road trip. Hopefully, the Oilers can find success and build up another long winning streak, as they still stand 6 points behind the Vegas Golden Knights.
