We have been going month-by-month through the Edmonton Oilers 2026-27 season schedule since the recent release.
We are touching on the end of the Oilers regular season campaign, highlighting the months of March and April. the second last month of the NHL regular season and the month of the 2027 NHL trade deadline and the tail end of the regular season in April. These are both important months on the calendar for a variety of reasons with important playoff races and of course, the aforementioned deadline.

Oilers rivals will test them
During the month of March, the Oilers play a total of 14 games, seven of those are against direct Pacific division rivals. The rest are from the other Western Conference division, the Central division, which boasts some rivals as well. One of those teams being the Dallas Stars, who the Oilers have faced in two of the last three Western Conference Finals.
This will be a great test for the Oilers who will be playing many of their final games against teams they are directly competing for playoff spots and standing positions with. It will also make for a potentially exciting end to the season as the Oilers will be battling against teams such as the up-and-coming San Jose Sharks and Chicago Blackhawks. As well, former playoff rivals like the Los Angeles Kings and the former Stars.
They will also have two games on the road against their Battle of Alberta rivals, the Calgary Flames. On their second occasion in March, it will be in the midst of a tight stretch of four games in six nights, where they will have two home games against the St. Louis Blues and Stars, then three straight road games against the Vancouver Canucks, Minnesota Wild, and Flames.
Oilers have an easy end to the season
Then as they move into April, the Oilers will play their rival Flames one last time along with two other division rivals in the Vegas Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks. Then, their other Western Canadian rivals, the Winnipeg Jets in a home-and-home series to end the 2026-27 campaign. It is five games in total over 10 days.
The Ducks and Golden Knights should be strong opponents but, especially with the trade rumours surrounding the Jets and their star goaltender, Connor Hellebuyck, they could be an easier opponent to face. However, facing former Oilers netminder Stuart Skinner and the possibility of their playoff lives being in his hands is a very scary proposition.
Either way, how the Oilers play for the other 82 games next season will play an important part of whether or not they will have to defeat their former goaltender to make the playoffs or not.
