The Edmonton Oilers are set to kick off the start of their seven game road trip on Wednesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers.
This game comes after a resilient 5-4 overtime win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night. The Oilers veterans were able to rally the team together with captain Connor McDavid and defenceman Jake Walman potting four of the team's five goals.
The Flyers have been playing quite well this season, currently holding an 8-5-2 record on the season and sit fourth in the Metropolitan division standings.
Players to watch
Matt Savoie
Top rookie, Matt Savoie gets a chance once again on the Oilers top line beside McDavid. He can prove to be an impactful piece for the team, turning his season around from his struggles early on having scored two points (one goal, one assist) in 17 games.
Stuart Skinner
Once again, the Oilers turn to their starter Stuart Skinner. He looks to prove that he can be a backstopper for the team as they look to return to the Stanley Cup Finals for a third straight season. If not, they may be forced to search for a new netminder. So far, he has struggled with a 5-4-3 record in 12 games and a 2.91 goals against average and a .883 save percentage.
Jack Roslovic
Jack Roslovic is another player to watch, he has been a solid addition to the Oilers forward group since being signed to a one-year deal. Through 15 games this season he scored four goals and six assists for 10 points, recording two points (one assist, and the game-winning goal) last game against the Blue Jackets. He will be a player to watch to see if he can continue his solid performance.
