Last night was the NHL Awards Show where the league hands out its player awards. The Edmonton Oilers had 3 players that could have won awards last night. Connor McDavid (Hart and Ted Lindsay) Stuart Skinner (Calder) and Darnell Nurse (King Clancy).

Of all the Edmonton Oilers nominated Connor McDavid was the only player to take home the awards he was nominated for. Honestly, it wasn’t much of a surprise that McDavid won what he did.

McDavid had an outstanding season, leading the league in points with 153 in 82 games. He also scored 64 goals and tallied 89 assists, helping the Edmonton Oilers secure a playoff spot. His exceptional play was recognized by his peers, who voted him the winner of the Ted Lindsay Award, given to the most outstanding player as voted by members of the NHLPA.

The Hart Memorial Trophy, on the other hand, is awarded to the player deemed most valuable to his team as voted by members of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association. McDavid’s performance was clearly deemed worthy of the award, as he was clearly the best player.

Of the 196 voters, he got 195 first-place votes. Then some, clearly Boston Bruins fan of a writer, voted Pastrnak first place and McDavid 5th. Whoever that is needs to be removed from voting, cause that is just a farce.

McDavid’s success this season is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport. He has established himself as the best player in the league, earning comparisons to Wayne Gretzky on how much better he is than his peers. His ability to make plays and score goals is unmatched.

As he continues to dominate on the ice, McDavid’s and the Edmonton Oilers future looks bright. He has already accomplished so much in his career, and it’s clear that he has the potential to do even more. Edmonton Oilers fans will undoubtedly be excited to see what he can do in the years to come.

Overall, Connor McDavid’s double win of both the Ted Lindsay and Hart trophies is a great accomplishment and a testament to his skill and talent. His impressive performance this season has solidified his place as the best player in the league, and he has certainly earned the respect and admiration of fans and peers alike, but not that one PWHA member….
