As the Edmonton Oilers look to improve their roster for the upcoming NHL season, one player that should be on their trade radar is Travis Konecny of the Philadelphia Flyers. Konecny is a young and talented forward who could make an immediate impact for the Oilers and help them compete for The Stanley Cup.

One of the main reasons why the Edmonton Oilers should consider trading for Konecny is his offensive ability. Last season, Konecny scored 31 goals and had 30 assists in 61 games played. He has proven himself to be a consistent scorer and playmaker, and would be a valuable addition to the Edmonton Oilers top 6.

Another factor to consider is Konecny’s age and potential. At just 26 years old, Konecny is still developing as a player and has a lot of room for growth. He has already shown flashes of brilliance in his career, and there is reason to believe that he could become even better with time and experience.

In addition to his offensive skills, Konecny appears to bring a strong work ethic and competitive spirit to the ice. He has good tenacity and willingness to battle for the puck, which could help the Oilers in their quest to become a tougher and more physical team.

Of course, there are some potential downsides to trading for Konecny. The biggest concern is the cost of acquiring him, as the Flyers are likely to demand a high price in return. The Oilers would need to carefully consider whether the benefits of adding Konecny to their roster outweigh the potential costs.

Once again in bringing in a highly skilled player the Edmonton Oilers will need to figure out the cap scenario that can make this deal work. Travis Konecny currently has a $5.5 million cap hit. I would assume if this trade took place Kailer Yamamoto would be going the other way. That would mean the Oilers would need to find $2.4 million somewhere else.

There are many reasons why the Edmonton Oilers should seriously consider trading for Travis Konecny. He is a young and talented player with a proven track record of offensive success, and he could help the Oilers become a more competitive team in the tough Western Conference. If Holland can find a fair deal, Konecny could be the missing piece that helps the Oilers achieve their goal.
