Have you seen the latest bird droppings from Robert Tychkowski? If not, it’s right here. Then he repeated the same nonsense after Game 2.
He parrots some meaningless stats to prove his point, but let’s get to the common sense math that proves him wrong.
The NHL playoffs are a best-of-seven series, where the first team to four wins, wins the series.
If your opponent gets to three wins before you, THAT’S a do-or-die time for the team, not after one loss in game one and certainly not when three games haven’t even been played yet in the series!
Tychkowski is supposed to be a professional sportswriter, so he should know better than to spread fear and whip the fanbase into a frenzy, especially one as bipolar as this one.
Deprogramming memo to Tychkowski and anyone who actually believed his drivel:
Talk to me about do-or-die when the Kings get their third win of the series, not after they win one game.
Lest we remind him of Oilers history, in the second round of the 2006 playoffs, the San Jose Sharks got two straight wins on the Oilers before the Oilers stormed back to win the series with four straight wins.
It’s not over until it’s over. It’s not do-or-die time until the Kings have three wins, whenever that might be. Don’t panic until it’s necessary.
