The Edmonton Oilers are hosting the Anaheim Ducks tonight down at Rogers Place. To me, the Anaheim Ducks are the worst team in the NHL. They may not be the last pointwise but their goal differential is worst by more than 20 goals.

The Edmonton Oilers are playing their best hockey of the season. They have 17 points out of a possible 20 in their last 10 games. On the flip side, the Ducks are 2-7-1 in their last 10. They are just going through the motions at this point.

I bet the management of the Anaheim Ducks wants them to keep losing and increase their odds of winning the draft lottery. The thing is NHL players don’t think like that, they hate losing and want to try and win every game.

When a team isn’t in the race for a playoff spot they can be unpredictable. They don’t play the same as the teams in the hunt. This can make them dangerous. Unfortunately for the Ducks, I just think with their roster they need a lot to the right if they want to win tonight.

The Edmonton Oilers Forwards Want To Stay Hot

If you are a betting person I would seriously take a look at betting the over tonight. The way the Edmonton Oilers are playing coupled with the poor play of the Anaheim Ducks is likely going to lead to lots of goals for the Oilers surging offence.

There are still a few momentous numbers trying to be achieved by some of the Edmonton Oilers. Leon Draisaitl is three goals away from another 50-goal season and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is 4 points away from 100 points. These are both moments that I assume both players will get at some point down the stretch, but there is a chance they could both get them tonight.

If you didn’t watch the game tonight and woke up and saw a Draisaitl hat trick and a Nuge 4-point night you shouldn’t be surprised by that. You would be more upset that you missed those moments than anything.

Edmonton Oilers Projected Lines

I would assume the lineup would stay the same as it was against the Kings a couple of days ago. The only change is that it looks as if Jack Campbell will be getting the start.

I think that the Edmonton Oilers are the starting Jack Campbell because the Ducks are a weaker opponent. I think they want to get him playing better before the playoffs just in case they do need him. Plus, giving Skinner some rest down the stretch isn’t the worst thing.

I think this will be Campbell’s second last start of the season. I expect him to get the start against Anaheim again on Wednesday, as it is the second half of a back-to-back.

Hopefully, if the Oilers can win this game they can get some help on the out-of-town scoreboard. With both the Kings and Golden Knights also playing tonight there could be a lot of movement in the Pacific Division again tonight.
