The Edmonton Oilers hosted the Ottawa Senators down at Rogers Place last night. The Edmonton Oilers were able to walk away with a 6-3 win.

3. 91. 6. 148. Final

The Edmonton Oilers played a solid game last night, they still had a couple of breakdowns which lead to goals. Fortunately for the Edmonton Oilers, they were able to outscore their mistakes. They were also able to prevent periods of time where they gave up multiple goals back to back.

This team post deadline has had a bit of a different feel to it. Before if the Edmonton Oilers were up 2 goals in the third period I always thought they will blow the lead. Things have changed for me now with Ekholm on the back end. It gives them two solid pairs I trust to shut it down.

There was also a few big moments in this game. Leon Draisaitl collected his 43rd and 44th goals of the season. On his second goal of the game, Draisaitl got his 100th point of the season. Draisaitl is now 4 points up on Nikita Kucherov for second in the league in points.

On a related note, McDavid is 29 points up on Draisaitl. This just shows you how dominant of a season McDavid is having. With 14 games remaining on the schedule McDavid has the most points of any other player since the 1995-1996 season when Jagr and Lemieux got 149 and 161 respectively. McDavid is currently on pace to end up with 155 points. Could he improve his pace and pass Lemieux this season?

The Edmonton Oilers are back at it tomorrow when they host the Dallas Stars. In the last meeting between these two teams, the Edmonton Oilers won the game 6-3 and played one of their best games of the season. It they play a solid game as they did back in December the Oilers should be able to hopefully move up the Pacific Division standings.
