The Edmonton Oilers will take on the best team tonight, as they are being hosted by the Boston Bruins. These two teams played each other just over a week ago on February 27 when the Bruins won the game 3-2.

This game tonight has the makings of another fun-to-watch game. The Edmonton Oilers are playing good hockey right now they have upgraded their team since the last time these teams faced each other.

The Oilers weren’t the only team to upgrade the Boston Bruins also added Tyler Bertuzzi from the Detroit Red Wings. Bertuzzi plays third-line minutes. The Edmonton Oilers main acquisition plays top 4 defensive minutes. Since joining the team Mattias Ekholm has averaged 20:36 of time played per game, compared to Bertuzzi’s 16:31 with the Bruins.

The Edmonton Oilers have improved much more than the Bruins since the game on the 27th. This is why there is a pretty good chance that the Edmonton Oilers could put another loss in the second column on the Bruins record. Making it only the 9th time the Brunis have lost in regulation.

The Bostons Bruins are having a record-breaking season thought and beating them will be no easy task. If you watched the last game these teams played, it was one of the better games the Edmonton Oilers played. They made almost no mistakes. With that being said they still lost the game.

This game is going to be a litmus test for this team moving forward. If they hope to lift the Stanley Cup they need to play a nearly perfect game at least 16 times in the postseason. Tonight will be a chance for them to prove they can do that when they play highly skilled teams. Just look at the standings there is no more skilled team than the Bruins.

Even if the Edmonton Oilers do lose this game you can’t get too mad. You can get mad if they play poorly and are their own reason they lost. If they play a really good game and have the same outcome as they did over a week ago I would be okay with that, just as I was last week.

This team just needs to prove that they can push the other top teams to a tipping point, cause once playoffs come the tipping point can move toward the Edmonton Oilers favour.
