Anaheim Ducks

A team the Edmonton Oilers have to contact if they intend to trade Jesse Puljujarvi is their Pacific Division rival, the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks were rumoured to be interested in Puljujarvi last summer, however, nothing ever materialized. It might be time for Holland to pick up the phone again to see if the Ducks are willing to make a deal for Jesse.

With the Ducks sitting well out of the division, they might be willing to trade players from their rosters.

We all know that high draft picks are precious, however, what will those draft picks do to an Oilers team aspiring to compete to win the cup? Trading away the 2023 2nd round pick to go along with Puljujarvi to get a defenseman like Klingberg, who can immediately step up in the top 2 will be a no-brainer. The only problem with this trade is that Klingberg has a massive cap hit of $7 million, and although it also expires at the end of the season, has to make Ken Holland get creative on this one. Holland can probably ship another draft pick to the Ducks for them to swallow some of Klingberg’s contract, anything is not outside of the possibilities here if the Edmonton Oilers are intended to make a deal.
