Edmonton Oilers’ must-see games of 2022-23
January, 7th. Vs Colorado Avalanche, in Edmonton
The Cale Makar goal on Game 1. The sweep that absolutely doesn’t tell the whole story of the series. This is still fresh on the Oilers’ fans, and in the first time the teams will face each other again, it is going to be an interesting game for sure. Even more having the crowd in Edmonton’s favor.
January, 28th. Vs Chicago Blackhawks, in Edmonton
All right, we all know the Chicago Blackhawks is a team that is going to compete for good draft positions. This will be interesting mostly because of Patrick Kane. The player could profit that he’s already in Edmonton and stay in there (dreaming is for free).
A first line with him, Connor McDavid and Evander Kane would be one of the best of the NHL history, and the Power Play time would beat a lot of NHL records. And he could follow the path of Duncan Keith and dream about lifting the Stanley Cup once more in his life.
March, 1st. Vs Toronto Maple Leafs, in Edmonton
As always, any game against the Leafs is great, and we’ll have to wait until March to see one in the next season. A lot of former Leafs like Zach Hyman and Tyson Barrie will probably play, but the one who will have the first game on the other side since 2019 is the goalie Jack Campbell. And as it was with Hyman, we hope to see the Leafs regretting on trading him.
March, 27th. Vs Arizona Coyotes, in Tempe
All right, like the game against the Blackhawks, we expect to see a win from the Oilers here, because the Coyotes will be fighting once more for draft positions.
It will be the third match of these teams in the season, but the first one away from Edmonton, and aren’t we all curious to see how it will be a NHL game in a 5000 seat on the Mullett arena? Even more, a game against the defender Jakob Chychrun. Because, if we can dream with Patrick Kane, we can surely at least dream what Chychrun can do in the Oilers defense. If he’s already great in Arizona, imagine on a Stanley Cup contender like Edmonton.
April, 13th. Vs San José Sharks, in Edmonton
This one is not about the opponent, the location or any special player. This game against the Sharks will be the last of the regular season, and how will the Oilers be in this game? Will the team already be in post season, and rest the main players? Or will the Oilers need full strength to fight at this day in April.
We hope this isn’t an important matchup, but we are all curious to see how far the Edmonton Oilers can reach this season.
