It’s a whopping $798,000 for a single season, but at least he’s signed. We all knew it was happening it was just a matter of when. It remains a mystery to me why Ken Holland took so long to sign Mcleod. Maybe he was hoping a trade would materialize for Warren Foegele and couldn’t make it happen. He’s not going to reveal that much information to us, so we’ll probably never know for sure. In any case, now the Oilers are going to be forced to jettison some depth before the season starts – either to Bakersfield or on waivers or trade – because they only have $165 of cap space at the time of this writing. That’s a bit too close for comfort.
Better late than never, I suppose.
