Ville Husso

With Mikko Koskinen leaving the Edmonton Oilers the Oilers are going to need to find a steady replacement that can handle lots of starts. Ville Husso could be that goalie. Husso is an up and coming goalie that was able to steal the starting job from Jordan Binnington for a large chunk of last season.

In 40 games played last season Husso had a save percentage of 0.919%. That was better than any goalie on the Edmonton Oilers last season. The problem is Husso has such a small sample size. There is also chance that his numbers are good because he plays behind the Blues, which play a solid defensive game.

The Edmonton Oilers are a bit looser defensively, so will his save percentage still be that high playing behind them? He would have to sign here first. Personally I think Husso would be a good fit between the pipes.

It has been a long time since the Edmonton Oilers have had a consistent starting goalie for multiple years in a row. If they sign Husso for a longer term deal, maybe we aren’t having the goaltending conversation all season and off season.
