The Edmonton Oilers look to bounce back after a 4-0 loss in game four tonight as they take on the Los Angeles Kings in game 5 at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

After playing a lackluster game 4 on Sunday the Edmonton Oilers look to turn things around tonight in game 5 against the Los Angeles Kings. This is a very important game for the Oilers to win as you don’t want to be put on the edge of elimination heading on the road.

The Los Angeles Kings brought their A game against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday and were able to be better than the Oilers in pretty much every aspect of the game. The Oilers need to do the same against the Kings tonight.

In game 4 there weren’t many players outside of the top line of Kane, McDavid and Puljujarvi that had a good game. Leon Draisaitl couldn’t seem to win a faceoff and had difficulty handling the puck and his line couldn’t get anything going.

If the Edmonton Oilers want to win this game they need to want to bury the Kings. They need to go back to the way they played in games 2 and 3. As soon as the puck drop in game 4 you could tell that LA wanted that game more. In most of the puck battles a Kings player would end up with the puck. They were pushing around the Oilers.

Edmonton needs to also be more physical. Statistically in game 4 the Oilers got more hits than the Kings 38 vs 27, but if you watch that game you could tell the Los Angeles Kings applied their will over the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers can’t be pushed around by this Kings team.

Another area the Oilers will need to improve on is their starts. So far in this series the team that scored first has won the game. This is good if you have a team that has a strong start, unfortunately there hasn’t been a game where I thought the Oilers were the better team in the first 5 minutes.
