Evan Bouchard, 22, had 43 points in 81 games this season with the Oilers and added a +10. In the playoffs so far, he has 3 assists in 2 games and has an even plus minus. Obviously Bouchard isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, but If the Oilers decide to make a trade involving him, this is what the trades could look like.
Soucy has been connected to Edmonton for the last couple seasons, so a trade to the Oilers isn’t entirely out of the question. Adding Lind and a 2nd makes a lot of sense as far as Bouchard’s value goes. Getting back a young prospect and a 2nd alongside a defensemen that will likely fill in the void left by Bouchard makes this trade work. The Seattle Kraken have been searching for a power play quarterback since they joined the league, and with Bouchard being as young as he is while only getting opportunities on the 2nd powerplay unit in Edmonton, it’s fairly likely that he would become a star in Seattle, and their face of the franchise.
Lind has 30 games of NHL experience, and has spent a majority of the last couple seasons in the AHL. If the Oilers decided to add him and send him to play in Bakersfield alongside one of, if not the strongest team in the minors, he could begin to flourish into a solid middle 6 player.
Soucy has already established himself as a top 4 defensemen in the NHL. His abilities would be utilized properly in Edmonton, and playing alongside a better D partner then what he was working with in Seattle will help him out even more.
