Edmonton Oilers @ Los Angeles Kings: Pre-Game
The Edmonton Oilers are in Los Angeles to take on the Kings tonight. The Oilers look to keep their winning streak going. Currently the streak is at 5 now they look to push it to 6. The Kings aren’t going to make it an easy win tonight.
The Kings are currently 3rd in the Pacific Division 1 point behind the Edmonton Oilers. If the Oilers lose tonight they will be bumped down to that 3rd spot, but they will still have a game in hand. On the flip side of that, if Edmonton can win they will be 3 points up with a game in hand.
Both teams are trying to hold off the Vegas Golden Knights. The Golden Knights currently sit 4 points behind the Kings with both teams playing the same amount of games. That makes them 5 behind Edmonton. If the Edmonton Oilers get 2 points tonight that would make them 7 points ahead with both teams having 10 games left.
This is a very important game for both the LA Kings and Edmonton Oilers. At this point in the season you can’t afford to leave points on the table. Home ice advantage in the playoffs would be a nice bonus for either of these teams, but more important than that is just getting to the playoffs.

First Round Preview
Unless either of these teams completely fall apart, this game will be a likely the first playoff round series for both teams. That should make for a very tightly played game, as both teams want to set the tone going into the playoffs.
There should be a playoff feel to this game because of that. The Edmonton Oilers will need to prove that they can play a low scoring game type of style and tonight is a good night for that. Last time these teams played, the Oilers blew a 2 goal lead on 2 goals scored within 14 seconds of each other.
Edmonton still did walk out of that game with the 2 points though after winning the game in a shootout. Hopefully tonight the Edmonton Oilers can win and can win in regulation so LA doesn’t get the 1 loser point.
Projected Edmonton Oilers Lines
Leon Draisaitl is slated to be back in the line-up so I would expect the lines to go back to the way they were prior to his injury.
