The Edmonton Oilers finish their 5 game road-trip tonight in a battle against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Oilers are coming off a convincing 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.
The Oilers have played very good so far on this road-trip. If they win tonight they will have gone 3-2 on this Eastern swing. Going in to the road trip I hoped they would finish with at least this record, so the fact that they have a chance is good.
Tonight will be Duncan Keith‘s first game back to Chicago since being traded in the offseason. Keith played 16 season with the Blackhawks and helped them win 3 Stanley Cups in his time there. He also won the Norris twice and the Conn Smythe once.
He was a major part of that team’s success in the past, but as teams start to struggle and players age, sometimes they don’t match up together anymore. Chicago is in the middle of a rebuild and Keith wanted to be closer to his family. That is why this trade was made.
So far this season these teams have faced each other twice. The Edmonton Oilers won 5-2 in Edmonton on November 20th and Chicago won 4-1 on February 9th also in Edmonton. That loss was the last game that Dave Tippett coached before he was let go.
Since that game Edmonton Oilers have gone 7-3 and have played good in all of the games expect against the Minnesota Wild.
The @EdmontonOilers are 7-3-0 in the Jay Woodcroft Era:

Leon Draisaitl: 4-8-12/+11/last 10GP
Zach Hyman: 6-4-10/+4/last 10GP
Derek Ryan: 5-3-8/+7last 10GP
I expect the Edmonton Oilers to keep the ball rolling and play well again tonight. This team is going to want to go out and win this game for Duncan Keith. I think they will do just that.
