The Edmonton Oilers continue a tough streak of games as they take on the Florida Panthers down in Sunrise, Florida. The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a close loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday.
They played a good game against the Lightning, but once again their goaltending let them down. This has been the case too many times this season. They played a good game, aside from that. Even with a couple a soft goals against, the Edmonton Oilers were within a goal of tying the game late in the 3rd period, before an empty net goal.
If the Oilers want to have a chance of winning this game Mikko Koskinen will need to play a good game and not let in any soft goals. This has been something he has struggled with in the past, but he has had quite a bit of rest since his last start. When he has rest he usually preforms well.
This game will be another good test for the Edmonton Oilers. After playing good against Tampa, they need to play good again today to prove they belong in the top part of the league.
I think the Oilers will win this afternoon. In the past they struggle with afternoon affairs, but they have something to prove after nearly beating the Lightning. They will continue their good play and Koskinen will have a solid start.
