In Stuart Skinner’s last 5 games he has averaged a saver percentage of 0.897% per game with an actual SV% of 0.902. He has also has a shutout in his last start before he got sent back down to Bakersfeild. Why he got sent down after playing a good game is still a weird move in my opinion. At least give him the chance to back it up.

So far this season Skinner statistically has been the Edmonton Oilers best goalie. He has played in 13 games also, so it’s a fairly good sized sample size. He has appeared in the same amount of games as Mike Smith and has better numbers to show for it. His quality start to really bad start ratio is 6-2, which is better than Smiths 4-3 in the same amount of games played.
In my opinion the Edmonton Oilers should give Skinner a chance to put this team on his back. He has shown so far that he can handle the skill of NHL players better than the other 2 goalies on this roster. Plus he seems to be the only goalie to consistently not give up an early goal on a game to game basis.
After Skinner I think they should have Koskinen as his back up. If this team is serious about winning, they need to start playing the best option for the win, not who could help them down the road. They need to stop looking at cap hit and put in who is playing better.
