The Edmonton Oilers once again look to keep adding numbers to their winning streak total as they play tonight. After winning a matinee yesterday against the Winnipeg Jets in Winnipeg, the Oilers travel back into Edmonton where they take in the Minnesota Wild tonight.

Edmonton Oilers vs Jets Quick Summary

Having to play a game then travel back home in time to play a game just over 24 hours later is tough on the body. That will be the case tonight for the Edmonton Oilers. After playing a very solid first two periods yesterday the Oilers eased up in the 3rd period.

In that period the Winnipeg Jets were able to score to goals and make it a one goal game till Darnell Nurse scored on an empty net with 3 seconds left to play. In the game the Edmonton Oilers were able to control most of the play. If they want to keep the winning streak going they will need to do that again tonight.

Struggling Wild

The Minnesota Wild are currently on a 2 game losing streak, where they lost 6-2 to Friday to the Florida Panthers and two days before that they lost 6-3 to the Winnipeg Jets. The Wild have been struggling to keep the puck out of their net lately.

This could be a time where the Edmonton Oilers defense is actually playing better than their opponents. The Oilers have only allowed 5 goals in the last two games combined where the Wild have given up 12. This added to the way the Oilers have been scoring lately should add up to a high scoring game for the Oilers.

The Edmonton Oilers will want to get a quick lead in this game as well. The Oilers tonight will be the better team if the Wild want to open this game up. If the Wild want to trade chances, the past will show us that the Edmonton Oilers should win in a higher scoring game.

Even though the Edmonton Oilers played last night, I think they should be able to pull out the victory against the struggling Minnesota Wild.
