Finally some Edmonton Oilers hockey to watch. It has been 10 days since the last Oilers game. Hopefully after this break from games the Oilers can bring their game back to early season form. They are going to try and add a number to the win column tonight as the Ottawa Senators come to Rogers Place.

The Ottawa Senators are also coming of a long gap between games. Before their game against the Calgary Flames on Thursday, the Senators didn’t play for12 days. After the break they came out flying against the Flames, beating them 4-1. This is the same thing the Edmonton Oilers need to do tonight.

After not playing for 10 days the Oilers need to show that they are the more rested team. They need to be the faster, stronger team. They cannot look lazy out there. Not only are they rested they also should be showing a sense of urgency. They have lost their last 5 games before this break.

I hope that the days off didn’t give them the chance to forget about the losses. This team needs to be in a mindset where they can’t lose consecutive games. To me this game tonight against the Ottawa Senators is as must win as we have seen this season.

Edmonton Oilers Lines:

The Edmonton Oilers still have a couple of players on the injured reserve as well as in COVID protocol. With no Ryan Nugent-Hopkins in the lineup, it gives Dave Tippett a chance to mix things up. He has put Connor McDavid and Draisaitl together on the first line with Kassian. I personally like the look of this second line. This will be a tough line to play against and will wear down the Senators in their own end as they will be relentless on the forecheck.

The first line with McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will be expected to put up numbers. The second line is going to be sneaky good I think. So when the Hyman, Mcleod, and Puljujarvi line is out there they should be spending a lot of time in the Ottawa end.

I am making the assumption that the Edmonton Oilers come out flying tonight. They will score the first goal and won’t look back, coming out of tonight with a win.
