The Edmonton Oilers host the Carolina Hurricanes tonight in what should definitely be a good matchup between two of the top teams in the league. The only difference is one team is playing like the best of the best and the other is struggling.
The Edmonton Oilers go into this matchup on a four-game losing streak. With losses to the Wild, Kraken, Kings, and Bruins. Carolina on the other hand has won three straight against the Flames, Jets, and Bruins.
The Hurricanes have a great penalty kill and defense overall as they only average 2.2 goals against per game, which is in comparison to the Oilers’ 3.08 during that time. They have an offense that can match up against the Oilers, led by Sebastian Aho who is leading the team in goals, assists, and points with 29 on the year.
The team also has nine players with at least ten points and eight players with at least five goals. They have incredible depth and will be a tough opponent to faceoff with tonight.
This will also be the Ethan Bear reunion to Edmonton tonight. I know this is an Edmonton Oilers fan site but I have to say, I wouldn’t mind seeing Bear score a goal in his return to Edmonton!
