The Edmonton Oilers have a pretty big game on Tuesday night against a rival in the making after last seasons playoff trip. The Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers will face off for the first time this season.

Most should remember how the Oilers and Jets left each other last summer. Winnipeg swept Edmonton out of the postseason in the first round. They dominated the entire Oilers roster for four straight games, and it was a tough pill to swallow for Oilers fans.

This is the first opportunity for the team to redeem themselves after that tough series, and things have been going pretty good going into this game.

Edmonton has been clicking on all fronts. Their offseason moves like bringing in Zach Hyman, Warren Foegele, and Duncan Keith have been working out, and they have been getting so many great goals from their stars in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

Most of Winnipeg’s goals this season have come in the slot. Edmonton is going to have to work to limit second and third scoring chances and produce offense all night long. This is not the same Jets team the Oilers ran into last season, arguably they are a little better with some of their offseason moves. But Edmonton is also a different team this time around.

Winnipeg is led by Kyle Connor who has 11 goals in 14 games this season for the Jets. If Edmonton can keep Winnipeg’s top players from scoring they will be in good shape tonight. The Oilers have shown that they can outscore their opponents. But today I hope we see them play a good all around game. Considering where these two teams left each other last season I am sure this will be a must watch game for fans, now let’s just hope it ends with an Oilers win!
