The Edmonton Oilers start a tough road trip tonight on the road in Detroit for a game with the Red Wings. Let’s talk about the matchup and everything to come for the 9-1-0 Oilers!

Five games on the road. Detroit, Boston, Buffalo, St. Louis, and Winnipeg: those are the teams the Oilers are going to have to face off against before heading back home for a home game on November 18th against the Jets.

The team has a lot on the line during the next five games, as the points in the standings are not going to get easier, especially considering how good of a start the Calgary Flames have had. The first of five games comes tonight against the Detroit Red Wings. Let’s first talk about the lineup for tonight.

The Edmonton Oilers expected lineup for the night against the Red Wings:

Draisaitl-McDavid-Puljujarvi

Hyman-RNH-Kassian

Foegele-Ryan-Yamamoto

Perlini-McLeod-Sceviour

Nurse-Bouchard

Keith-Ceci

Koekkoek-Barrie

Stuart Skinner

Stuart Skinner is going to get his first start on the season with the Edmonton Oilers. This is going to be just his second NHL game. Skinner is just 23 years old and has some size at 6’4″. This is going to be a great test for the young netminder one hopefully he passes considering he is one of the brightest young netminders in the Edmonton Oilers system.

Skinner has played in one game in the past last season against the Ottawa Senators. He gave up five goals and posted a save percentage of .868. The Oilers did win the game though. You can check out the highlights from that matchup on January 31st 2021 here:
