The Edmonton Oilers lineup has been great through the first ten games of the season.
The Edmonton Oilers are ten games into the regular season and they have a record of 9-1-0 through that time. Sure, losing a game was not great, but they have had some great games along the way including a big comeback most recently against the New York Rangers.
Today I want to talk about some key thoughts on the season so far. From the power play to the great play from the top six there has been a lot to talk about. Let’s dive in with this piece diving in with ten thoughts after the first ten games of the Edmonton Oilers season.
1. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl continue to lead the charge.
After ten games, Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid are just on another level. The pair have 23 and 22 points through the first ten games of the season. Draisaitl leads the team and that is thanks to a great week he just had. He was the first start of the week and has had a pretty impressive first ten games of the season.
⭐ Leon Draisaitl posted three-plus points in each of his three outings for the @EdmontonOilers last week and leads the NHL with 10-13—23 in 10 GP this season. He is the first player with 23 points through the first 10 games of a season since Mario Lemieux (2002-03). #NHLStats pic.twitter.com/U87F9q5CZK

The Oilers need Draisaitl and McDavid to continue to lead the charge offensively. Together the duo is unstoppable, but even apart they are two of the league’s best talents around. A combined 45 points through the first ten games is not something to scoff at. These two are just on another level than the rest of the league.
However, they cannot lead the team by themselves. There is a lot of other great performances to mention here.
