The Edmonton Oilers should consider adding a netminder considering they are without Mike Smith who is out with an injury.

The Edmonton Oilers season could not have started better, with the team starting the year 5-0-0. The offence is working, and the team needs to keep the good vibes going in the future. With Mike Smith on injured reserve and Stuart Skinner recalled from the AHL, the Oilers net is not as strong as it should be.

Edmonton is more than capable of scoring a lot of goals, they have 23 through the first fives games of the season, but their ability to keep the puck out of their own net is not something they should want to mess with.

Mikko Koskinen has been pretty good through his first few games. Through three games Koskinen has a .943 save percentage which definitely could come back down to earth a little. Adding another netminder could make this team more successful, and I am not just talking about an addition to play a few games while Smith is out, I think there is a position to capitalize on right now with the first option on the table.

Let’s jump in with the three goalies the Oilers should target in a trade early on in the season.
