The Edmonton Oilers have an actual hockey game tonight! After a long offseason and preseason, the regular season is finally here.

Rather than look ahead to the postseason and what Edmonton needs to do to finally win a playoff round, the Oilers have a game to win tonight against the Canucks. This is the Edmonton Oilers’ big home opener. After not having fans in the stands last season, and only a limited number during the postseason, this is the first regular-season game for the fans and team to come together.

This year is all about a new beginning. While there are countless players returning, there are a lot of newcomers hoping to help get this team over the edge. I cannot wait to watch it all play out tonight.

Oilers Projected Lines via NHL.com:

Draisaitl – McDavid – Puljujärvi
Hyman – RNH – Yamamoto
Foegele – Ryan – Sceviour
Perlini – McLeod – Turris

Nurse – Barrie
Keith – Ceci
Russell – Bouchard

Goal:

Smith
Koskinen

Let’s hope Edmonton can score early and score often tonight! Let us know in the comments who you think is going to score first tonight, I hope Duncan Keith finds a way or Brendan Perlini. Perlini scored a lot in the preseason and now is when it matters the most.

For everything Vancouver ahead of tonight’s game, check out our friends over at the Canuck Way, I can’t wait to read their game recap tomorrow after the Canucks game one loss 🙂

Around the league:

There are a few other games on the night: Montreal and Toronto will faceoff, Chicago and Colorado, New York and Washington, and Anaheim and Winnipeg all have games tonight.
