The Edmonton Oilers have their fourth preseason game of the year tonight against the Seattle Kraken. Here is everything to note going into the game.

A few days ago the Edmonton Oilers played the Seattle Kraken for the first time in franchise history, but now this will be the first time the two face off in Seattle. Personally, I am super excited to see the Kraken’s stadium and see the atmosphere in there on the broadcast.

While the last game between these two teams was a big blowout victory for the Oilers 6-0, that usually is how home preseason games go for teams. It is an opportunity to play your stars while not making the “locks” for the lineup travel too far. It is why we did not see McDavid or Draisaitl in Calgary and Winnipeg, and I do not think we will see them in Seattle.

Keep an eye out on our Twitter for when the lineup is officially out. We will make sure to tweet out that information and share it on our Facebook page. Now let’s jump in with some keys to the game.

Keys To The Kraken/Oilers Second Matchup:

Let the young guys play. Hopefully, tonight’s game will help clarify some of the bottom six moving forward. Yesterday fans saw the first round of cuts by the team and there were some players that were in the lineup in Winnipeg cut from the team after that game.

I also hope this is an opportunity to see Zack Kassian play. Kassian looked good in his previous preseason matchup and while I am hoping we will see that again I want to see him in action. There is no better place to test the different players than the preseason.

One last reminder: The last game in Winnipeg was a little bit tougher to watch than the previous victories against the Flames and Kraken. This is my reminder to everyone, including myself, to take all these games with a grain of salt. While I do appreciate what the preseason is all about, I do think it goes on a little too long as teams don’t want to risk stars getting injured and spend a few too many games playing prospects and minor league players. Again, maybe that reminder is just for me! LoL
