The Edmonton Oilers are now officially in the month of October! This month the season begins, and fans get their first real look at this team. Let’s dive in with how important this month is for the Oilers.

The Edmonton Oilers have a number of games this month. Their regular season begins on October 13th against the Vancouver Canucks. After that game, they play the following teams: Flames, Ducks, Coyotes, Golden Knights, Flyers, and Canucks one more time.

There are seven games during the month of October for the Oilers, that is 14 points on the board for them to claim and take a lead in the division, now how many points they actually grab remains to be seen.

Before that first game on October 13th, the team does have some more preseason matchups starting tonight in Seattle. After that, the team has matchups against the Flames and Jets before finishing the preseason with two games against the Canucks.

Hockey is so close. We are literally 13 days away from puck drop against the Canucks, and before that, there is a lot that still needs to be figured out with this roster. From the bottom six to the bottom pairing defensive unit, the team does have a little bit more tinkering to do.

The great thing is the wait is almost over, there will be NHL games this month and every day the season gets closer which means the new run for Connor McDavid and company to the playoffs is almost upon us!

October is here, and I am sure everyone around the hockey world is excited for what is to come. There are a lot of challenges that come with a new season. New opponents, new teammates and just trying to figure out how the year is going to go. For the Oilers, I bet it is a challenge they are looking forward to.

The first game of the month of October is tonight in Seattle against the Kraken.
