The Edmonton Oilers have a preseason game tonight against the Seattle Kraken, but that is not the only reasons fans should tune in.
The first preseason game was fun to watch. Finally having hockey back was a treat that I did not realize I was missing as much as I was. Watching the Edmonton Oilers totally neutralize the Calgary Flames was a great gift to begin the preseason, but now it has made me hungry for more.
I have to say tonight is going to be a fun night to watch. First game for the Oilers at home, and it is against the new Seattle Kraken whom beat the Vancouver Canucks during their first preseason game a while ago.
As the Oilers are at home, usually more stars for the team play infront of the home crowd during the preseason, and that is the case tonight. Take a look at the Oilers lineup for this game:
This lineup has to be the number one reason to watch the game. This will be the first opportunity to see McDavid and Hyman together, and a great opportunity to see some of those battles in the bottom six. Sceviour is an interesting player that could steal a spot from a guy like Kyle Turris for example, and I still think Brendon Perlini is a player to keep an eye on as he tries to get back into the NHL.
On the defensively side of things I think this will be a great opportunity to see what Bouchard does playing alongside Niemeliainen. The 23 year old defenceman has a lot of size and if the pair can work maybe the team has another player they can call on if there is an injury.
Watching the top six perform against the Seattle Kraken is going to be fun tonight. Hopefully fans get to see even more goals against the Kraken then they did against the Calgary Flames. However keep in mind that with the top six basically set, this game fans will probably see the third and fourth line a considerable amount.
Puck drop is at seven!
