The Edmonton Oilers season is so close to being a reality. The lineup appears to be set with the signing of Kailer Yamamoto. Now it is time to look at some different players that could make a big impact on the team.
Everyone expects Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl to lead the league in scoring again in 2021-22. It is the other players on the Oilers roster that are going to be needed to make a big impact.
Let’s take a look at five different Oilers that are going to be looked at to being impactful players this season.
The first player we are going to look at is the big addition into the bottom six – Warren Foegele.
1. Warren Foegele
The Edmonton Oilers traded Ethan Bear this offseason to the Carolina Hurricanes for Warren Foegele. While this move has been looked at a lot this offseason and at times scrutinized, I think this was the best move for the team.
Edmonton has struggled with just one thing the past few years, getting goals from the bottom six. By adding Foegele they begin to move the needle in the right direction. The 25-year-old Foegele had 10 goals and 20 points last year. That number definitely is going to go up this season hopefully.
