5. Connor McDavid Is Still Here

Any team with Connor McDavid is a contender for the Stanley Cup. Every team has a star player, but none are as good as McDavid. It is not a question of whether or not he will win a Stanley Cup, that is inevitable. He is such a good hockey player and is still so young.

Edmonton has a generational player on their roster, and this season will be the year that I think he finally puts them over the hump in the playoffs. Edmonton did have one good playoff run a few years back in 2017 when they lost in a game seven in the second round, but this year I think they will get further than that.

I think McDavid will once again put up a lot of points during the regular season, and I think this postseason we will finally see him shine even brighter than before. Teams have found ways to shut him down and keep Edmonton off of the score sheet, but this season with the different additions to the lineup that just might not be possible.

The season is just a little over a month away, and the sky is the limit for this team.
