Minnesota Wild

March 4, 2014

The great Ilya Bryzgalov was traded to the Minnesota Wild for a 2014 4th round pick around the trade deadline in 2014. The draft pick that Edmonton got in the deal was used to draft William Lagesson with the 91st overall pick.

Buffalo Sabres

December 19, 2013

The Oilers traded the signing rights for Linus Omark to the Sabres for a 2014 conditional 6th round draft pick. The conditions of the 6th round pick were not met so Linus Omark was traded to Buffalo for basically nothing.

Dallas Stars

July 5, 2013

Sending Shawn Horcoff to the Dallas Stars for Philip Larsen and a 2016 5th round pick was an interesting move back in 2013. I find it interesting watching teams trade around 7th round picks. Honestly very few players make it to the NHL that are drafted in the 7th round so seeing teams swap 7th rounders years in advance is kind of funny.
